Foundation Program (WAUFP)

The Western Australian Universities' Foundation Program (WAUFP) was developed by the four state universities in Western Australia to enable international students to qualify for admission to university.

  • Murdoch University
  • Curtin University of Technology
  • Edith Cowan University
  • University of Western Australia

Every student who successfully completes the Western Australian Universities' Program (WAUFP) will be guaranteed entry into a university program in Western Australia, subject to quotas and specific requirements for entery into the chosen degree program.

The WAUFP allows students entry into most universities throughout Australia including the University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, Griffith University, University of South Australia, Monash University, RMIT, Deakin University and several other universities, provided those universities' entry requirements are met.

Standard Versus Accelerated Programs

Students can enrol in the Western Australian Universities' Foundation Program through the:

  • Standard Foundation Program (February - November) or
  • Fast-track (April - November)

Students in the Fast-track program will be required to take additional classes outside the normal school day to ensure they meet the course requirements.

Program Outline

All students taking the Foundation Program must enrol in English Language and Australian Cultural Studies (ELACS). This is a compulsory subject, which develops skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in English Language, and at the same time provides an education in Australian social and cultural topics.

  • Calculus
  • Discrete Maths
  • Applicable Maths
